This project is a sculpture for memorializing my cat, zaizai,whom I recently lost. To ease the pain of loss, I created this sculpture infused with the scent of my beloved cat, allowing me to relive the memories of our life together.
The sculpture's structure is crafted from oyster shells, chosen for their similarity to feline bone composition.The "fur" is formed by microorganisms collected from the spaces where my cat often stayed, while the scent is extracted from preserved samples of its fur.
My hope is that, by calling its name, I can feel as if it might come back to me once more.
