Square dancing
Apr- Aug 2022
This project explores the phenomenon of square dancing among the elderly and nightclub dancing among the young. Square dancing is often considered old-fashioned, while nightclub dancing is considered unhealthy. However, through our research, we discovered similarities between these two activities, which led us to redefine inter-generational relations.
We expressed these ideas through performance art, printed publications, and virtual dance spaces.
The printed publication produced from this project was awarded one of the top ten books of the year at the 2022 China ABC Art Book Fair.
As part of the group, I was responsible for analyzing two chapters, creating drawings, constructing a park model, drafting interview articles, and participating in the final publication's editing and distribution.
